Nowadays younger and younger players delight fans with their play, even on European level. The top clubs fight with each other to sign them with hope to secure a top class footballer for a long time. In the Thursday’s match against Eintracht Frankfurt Joao Felix’s star shone brighter than ever.

Portuguese is Lisbon club’s player since 2015/16 season, when he joined ‘The Eagles’ reserve team. Currently he plays his first season in the senior squad and he already became a main star. He scored 10 times in the league and added 5 assists during 1254 minutes on the pitch. He jumped into the first squad in January and it became obvious, that the manager made the right choice.

In the Europa League he’s been appearing in the squad since Round of 16, but he only had an direct impact on goals in Thursday’s game. He caught up the lack of scoring in the previous matches with an influence on all four of them. First he executed perfectly a penalty, later he showed his skills, finding free space in front of penalty box and netting into left-down corner. Even though the assist was accidental, because the ball hit him and went ahead of Ruben Dias, his third goal was an evidence for Felix’s killer instinct.

It is not surprising, that there is queue of willing clubs to buy him. He became the youngest Portuguese player ever to score a hattrick in European competition, beating Eusebio’s record from 1962. In addition, since 2007 no player has scored three Europa League goals in such a young age since Sergio Aguero. As you can see, we’re dealing with a serious talent, who can easily conquer Europe in the future.
