Ajax made something unbelievable happen. Even though they were doomed to failure before the matches with current Champions League winner, Real Madrid, and they lost the first game in Amsterdam, the team played splendidly at Santiago Bernabeu.

In the 18th minute it was already 0:2. Dusan Tadic, bought by Ajax before the current season, played magnificently, providing two assists and then netting once himself. In the second half Asensio ignited hope with a goal, but beautiful shot by Lasse Schone from a free kick extinguished it immediately. The ‘Galacticos’ dominance in Champions League ended with a disgrace.

Despite the young squad Ajax has, with six players under 23, the guest team crushed the asleep giant. Young players ridiculed a few times an experienced squad with a brilliant technique and a gigantic engagement. The hosts didn’t want to let go, but it wasn’t their day, starting with injuries and ending with shooting the post.

The tragic season for ‘Los Blancos’ still lasts. Within a week they have been eliminated from Copa del Rey by Barcelona, then they lost in another El Clasico, this time in the league, now they are out of Champions League. Even though Santiago Solari tries some changes in the squad, introducing Reguilon and Vinicius, it is clearly not enough to achieve satisfying results.

Meanwhile, Ajax has made history. In the 14th match against Real they won 1:4 in the Cruyff’s style, who wore number 14 on his shirt and became the first player from the Dutch team, who scored against the Madrid team. It is certain, that in the short period of time the biggest clubs will be ask for Neves, van de Beek and especially De Ligt, but they can enjoy the incredible adventure for now and focus on it. Probably every football fan wishes for their advances to continue.
