Serbian in Southampton shirt was known as one of the most fruitful and effective midfielder in Premier League. After joining Ajax, even though the level of the competition is undoubtedly lower than in England, he can be satisfied – 30-year old makes unbelievable number in Eredivisie and played the best match in his career against Real Madrid in Champions League.
The player, who started his career in FK Vojvodina, left Southampton last summer to join Ajax, but he has nothing to regret. His former team still fights to avoid relegation, and in the meantime Tadic is playing the best season of his career. Only in Champions League he scored six times and added three assists in eight games, what is the same result… as in 36 Premier League matches last season! He netted 18 times and provided 7 assists in Eredivisie as well. If in the next 10 games he takes part in scoring at least six goals, he will break his record from the 2013/14 season, when he played for Twente. After that campaign he drew attention of Southampton and moved to United Kingdom.
Due to playing at left wing or in the middle of the attack, Tadic has an opportunity to directly involve in goals for his team. He played there splendidly at Santiago Bernabeu and eliminated Real Madrid from Champions League. For this performance he received a ‘10’ note from ‘L’Equipe’, known for very strict evaluation. Ajax is expecting now another rival in Europe, but the team can be already proud and satisfied of their form.
The winger can expect many offers from bigger clubs in the summer and it is up to him, if he wants to support Ajax’s project for long, or move to a stronger team, which would be the most ambitious one of his career as well.
