After two Premier League losses in row, to Arsenal and Bournemouth, Chelsea mercilessly dealt with Huddersfield 5:0. It is the biggest ‘The Blues’ win under Maurizio Sarri.

Dark clouds has appeared over Stamford Bridge. The last time Chelsea won with more than two goals difference was… at the end of October, against Burnley. For the long time ‘The Blues’ managed to gain three points, however after the defeat to Tottenham the sack of distressing results has untied. Losses to Wolverhampton, Leicester and the last one, to Bournemouth, the biggest in Roman Abramovich’s era, it’s unbecoming of such a club.

At the beginning, Italian manager’s proteges quickly learned the new, offensive tactics, based on passes and patient waiting for the opponent to make a mistake. Chelsea’s domination over the rivals was unquestionable, but sooner or later recurrent way of play wasn’t a mystery to anyone. The team is without a genuine striker, with players which statistics are at the bottom of league juxtapositions (like Alonso), or with Jorginho, on whom the whole offensive play is based on, even though denizen Italian is overtaken, pushed by rivals without any problem and with being pressured even a little he makes colossal mistakes. These troubles are visible in almost every ‘The Blues’ match.

Boring-to-watch team has stopped achieving expected results and Maruzio Sarri lighted a fire in the locker room by attacking players and their mentality in the press conference after the match against Arsenal. Next Italian’s statements in the following days weren’t particularly different from the angry words after defeat to ‘The Gunners’. Even Eden Hazard received reprimand, even though he is the team leader on the top of assists classification (10 final passes) and he is approaching to the top of the goalscorers table netting 12 times. Without a doubt, the manager tries to spark a sports anger in his players, but ‘The Blues’ are famous for firing managers, when they are involved in conflict with them. Ex-Napoli coach is walking on thin ice.

The crisis reached the peak after the defeat to ‘The Cherries’. Losing 0:4 to the club from the middle of table is a scandal for a team like Chelsea. Sarri didn’t hide his indignation, but the loss had to be forgotten quickly to show appropriate reaction to such a result. Next rival was Huddersfield from the bottom of the league, perfect opponent to come back on winning track.

Since the beginning of the match, ‘The Blues’ were merciless. Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain played particularly well, even though it was only the third game in a Chelsea shirt for the Argentinean. Both players scored twice and the last goal was added by David Luiz after the cross following the corner from Willian. However, it is necessary to remember, that ‘The Terriers’ are the team, that hasn’t won since the end of November, suffering 11 league defeats in that time. Chelsea players could treat this game as an opportunity to improve morale before the upcoming hit against Manchester City. The Argintinean striker had an occassion to demonstrate his form and he didn’t waste this possibility.

Time will tell whether this victory will motivate players to work harder and we will see their high form soon. ‘The Blues’ are still in four competitions – Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Even though winning the league isn’t likely to happen, the team is still able to win three trophies. In the last mentioned tournament is only a final game to play, against Manchester City.
