Summer transfer of Choupo-Moting to PSG is still a contentious issue among observers, who don’t understand why the Paris club signed the player, even if he supposed to be a substitute. After last miss against Strasbourg, which can easily be name the mistake of the season, their doubts are even more serious.

Cameroonian has never achieved a world class level, he hasn’t played in such a big club either, until French made an offer. His scoring records in a league were made in 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons in Mainz shirt, when he scored 10 goals. Until 2017 his whole career took place in Germany, but this year he received an offer from Stoke. The 2017/18 campaign wasn’t successful for ‘The Potters’ though, which have been relegated. Choupo-Moting scored 5 league goals, but it didn’t help to stay in the top tier. What is obvious, the top players of the team changed their clubs – Shaqiri joined Liverpool and Hamburger SV academy graduate signed for PSG.

Forward played 656 league minutes this season and appeared on the pitch since the first minute only against small teams, just as Strasbourg in the last matchweek. PSG would officially win the title after achieving three points that night. At first, Cameroonian did a great job scoring an opener in 13th minute from a close range. When the rivals equalized, Choupo-Moting had unbelievable chance to net again. Nkunku lobbed the goalkeeper and the ball was heading straight into the goal. Near the line instead of executing the opponents, forward stopped somehow the ball and jumped into the net, so defender were able to dismiss the danger.

Situation has been loudly commented in the media, especially that PSG lost points and will have to wait with title-winning celebration at least until the next game. The culprit has no idea, how it happened and apologized to his teammates. The question is, if the management would decide it’s time to buy a new substitute forward.
