CONCACAF Gold Cup is a tournament, in which teams from North America, Latin America and Caribbean takes part. The competition for the title of the best team in this part of the world has been played since 1941, but in this form the cup has been organised since 1991 every 2 years, with little exceptions (1996 after three years and 2003 after one year). Mexico holds the most titles (seven) and the second most rewarded team is United States (five).
In the competition, which takes place in USA, Costa Rica and unknown yet Carribbean country, 16 teams has advanced, including the hosts. It is a change comparing to the previous editions, when there played only 12 teams. It is also the first time, when three countries organise the cup.
The teams that advanced to the tournament are: Bermuda, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curacao, El Salvador, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and USA. The first match is planned for June 15th and the final will take place on July 7th.
