Chelsea faced a serious problem with transfer ban. The club tried to delay the beginning of punishment, but it was refused, so they won’t be able to strengthen the squad in the summer. The only option is to reach for the youngsters and the loan players.
Londoners have the whole army of players, who were sent to the other clubs to develop themselves and achieve high form. At least in general, because this is not a case for Eduardo, 36-year-old goalkeeper in Vitesse. However, the majority’s task is to improve their abilities. Among the loan players, who can come back to London and strengthen the squad?
Kurt Zouma can be the first candidate. Currently the Everton’s defender faces a difficult season, as the whole team is in crisis, but he’s the first choice of Marco Silva. In Chelsea squad he could be a good supplement.
In Milan, Tiemoue Bakayoko presented a good development. In Chelsea shirt he was very stressed and made many defensive errors, that could lead to a goal. Frenchman had a difficult start in Italy as well, but he managed to become one of the most important players in the team. Back in London he could retrieve his reputation at Stamford Bridge and fight for the first squad.
The Blues’ has a lot of young talents in their academy and one of them is the Frank Lampard’s natural successor, who is also under Chelsea legend’s wings – Mason Mount. 20-year old had an impressive start in Championship, but later he slowed down with form and has got an injury since the end of January. In Chelsea he can follow the steps of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ethan Ampadu, who try to break to squad.
Bought in the winter transfer window, Christian Pulisic, is considered as one of the best talents in the world. He began his career at the beginning of 2016 in Borussia Dortmund and being only a teenager he was able to ridicule Real Madrid’s defence, but right now he’s not the Lucien Favre’s first choice. His career slowed down, what is common among players, who started in very young age. Chelsea trusts in his abilities though, and consider him as the future, who will add quality to the squad even the next season.
Tammy Abraham is the player that can resolve Chelsea’s problems with forwards. 21 goals and 2 assists this season in Championship prove, that he is one of the biggest talents at Stamford Bridge. He may finally receive a chance due to the transfer ban and it would probably be the last one given to stay in London. If he doesn’t show his abilities, he may end on another loan, what won’t help his career at all.
