On February 7th Dorset Police announced officially, that the recovered body from the airplane was indentified as considered missing Emiliano Sala, Cardiff City’s player. Pilot David Ibbotson’s body has not been found.
On January 21st the new Welsh team’s purchase went on a flight from Nantes to Cardiff, after saying goodbye to his fellow teammates. During the trip the plane disappeared from the radars. The search and rescue operation was cancelled after a few days because of no clues found. Only the private search costing 300.000 euros, on which e.g. French players contributed, brought into effect. First the small parts from the aircraft were found, then the wreck of the plane.
Argentinean player was 28. In the current season he scored 12 league goals in 19 matches, what led to record-breaking transfer to Cardiff City costing 17 million euros.
