Max Verstappen set the most laps and fastest time on Thursday, the first day of Formula 1 pre-season testing. The defending Dutch champion laps the Bahrain International Circuit 0.029 seconds faster than Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso.
Recently, Max Verstappen admitted that it will be difficult for him to beat his own feats from last year, and here you go! Max Verstappen is the best already in pre-season testing.
Max Verstappen has completed 157 laps, far more than any other driver and almost three times more than will be covered at next week’s season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix. Second was Fernando Alonso. Carlos Sainz was third and Charles Leclerc fourth. Sainz and Leclerc were just over 0.4 seconds behind Verstappen.
With a few rule changes for 2023, there are only three days of pre-season testing, with one car per team. This is to reduce costs. However, some believe that this favors large teams that can do more advanced analysis off the track because they have the right tools to do so.
