Former Manchester City and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez is injured in prison football match

Currently in his third stint at his boyhood team Boca, he took part in a kickabout when visiting a relative in prison – and it didn’t end well.

The 34-year-old has a calf strain, reportedly picked up after playing a prison game of football.

Clarin Sports say he was visiting his brother behind bars when he tore his soleus muscle in a 20 minute kickabout.

The incident occurred in a prison in Cordoba, where Tevez’s his half-brother Juan Alberto Martinez at Bouwer’s maximum security prison in Cordoba. – He is currently serving a 16-year sentence for his part in an armed robbery.

The striker has netted three goals in five games already for the Argentine side. However the club were said to be ‘furious’ when he explained his latest injury.
