Krzysztof Piątek has become one of the main targets among the top clubs in Europe, including FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. In just half a year he has made a big step from an average polish club Cracovia, through Genoa placed in the middle of Serie A table to signing a contract with legendary AC Milan.
In 19 league games this season 23-year-old Pole scored 13 goals, with only Fabio Quagliarella, Cristiano Ronaldo and Duvan Zapata above him in the top scorers table. He netted 6 times in Coppa Italia as well. It’s not surprising that he can aim higher and take bigger responsibility this season. AC Milan will be in need of a new striker, as it’s almost sure, that Gonzalo Higuain will join Chelsea FC on loan.
The cost of polish forward may estimate around 35 million euros + bonuses. The transfer will make Piątek the most expensive polish buy, as Arkadiusz Milik is now a record-holder.
The pressure on Pole might be huge, as AC Milan has struggled a lot with finding a perfect striker in the recent years. Nikola Kalinic, Luiz Adriano or Andre Silva didn’t meet expectations. However experts claim that he is ready to make another big step in his career. His current coach in Genoa, Cesare Prandelli, ensures, that he has never worked with such a complete striker like Piątek. He is also sure, that Pole will become a new world-class forward.
His compatriots keep fingers crossed for the transfer. Polish strikers become valuable on the transfer market and successful buy of Piątek can persuade another clubs to invest in talents from Poland.
