Iga Swiatek is back in shape! The Pole won her fifth title of the season on Sunday. In the final of the tournament in Beijing, she defeated Lyudmila Samsonova in two sets. With this victory, she equals Serena Williams in certain statistics.

Iga Swiatek returns to form and presents tennis at the highest level. On Sunday, Swiatek won her fifth title of the season.

Iga Swiatekwas in a bit of a crisis before the start of the final part of the season, the Asian tournaments. The Pole lost unexpectedly prematurely in the US Open and thus lost her lead in the WTA ranking. After the US Open, the Pole took a few days break. After returning to the game, at the conference before her Asian starts, she emphasized that returning to the leadership position was not a priority for her. The Pole focused on improving some of the game’s shortcomings and it paid off. On Sunday, October 8, Swiatek won the tournament in Beijing. In the final, she defeated Lyudmila Samsonova with the score 6:2, 6:2.

By winning in Beijing, the Pole once again made tennis history. It turns out that she is the first tennis player since Serena Williams in 2015 and 2016 to win at least five titles, season after season.
