Pep Guardiola left Manchester City for three weeks. Now he is back to work. Why was Guardiola absent?

Pep Guardiola returned to Manchester City after a three-week absence. The Spaniard’s absence was due to his health problems. Guardiola flew to Barcelona for surgery. He underwent a procedure that relieved his back pain.

In Guardiola’s absence, the football club was led by his assistant, Juanmo Lillo. The Spaniard’s deputy led Manchester City in two league matches – against Sheffield United 2-1 and against Fulham 5-1.

Guardiola will lead the team in the next match against West Ham. Manchester City has full points after four league matches. The team is the leader of the Premier League.
