Aaron Ramsey, the 28-year-old Welsh Arsenal midfielder, will join Juventus this summer for free. This is why champions of Italy could offer a lucrative four-year contract, with wages £400.000 per week. This salary will make him the highest-earning British man in football, beating the record of £350.000 per week made by his compatriot, Gareth Bale.
The information was first published by David Ornstein from BBC, a valuable source in terms of Arsenal transfers. Then it was confirmed by both clubs and the player, who thanked his fans for their support during his career at Emirates.
The Welshman has spent 11 years in north London. On summer 2008 he was bought to Arsenal from Cardiff by Arsene Wenger. During his stay in England he won FA Cup three times and Community Shield thrice.
In Allegri’s squad, as long as he will avoid injuries which he often suffers from, he could become a key player. He will compete with Matuidi or Can for a place in a squad. His ability of combinative play, fantastic ball control or passing and shooting accuracy will constitute a great supplement to manager’s arsenal.
In the recent years Juventus has become famous for bringing players for free after their contracts expired. Italians are not scared of spending a lot, what transfers of Higuain and Ronaldo prove, but they can get any opportunites on the transfer market as well. This way Juventus has not spent a penny on contracting such players like Fabio Cannavaro (in 2009), Andrea Pirlo (2011), Paul Pogba a year later (only equivalent for upbringing the player needed to be paid for Manchester United), Kingsley Coman (2014), Sami Khedira (2015), Dani Alves (2016) or Emre Can (2018).
