There are two teams in Premier League right now, who are undoubtedly above the rest – Liverpool and Manchester City. Both team are the only ones to reach 80 points already, when the third team, Tottenham, didn’t even get 70. The fight for a league title between both clubs will continue until the end of the season, similarly to the 2013/14 campaign. Then ‘The Reds’ were first in the table for Christmas, what usually ends with a title in a pocket, but that time City overtook their rivals in the title race.

This season it could be similarly, because Liverpool was also first during Christmas time but lost their advantage at spring. If Manchester City wins an overdue derby match against Manchester United, they will jump above ‘The Reds’ in the table with one point of advantage. It seems though, that Jürgen Klopp’s proteges don’t have so demanding rivals as Pep Guardiola’s players.

After today’s game versus Tottenham, City will meet again with them just three days later. Then they will face Manchester United. Other opponents are: Burnley away, Leicester at home and Brighton away again. Each loss of points can cost the team champions’ title. In the meantime Liverpool will compete with Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves. For the team like ‘The Reds’, only the last club should be any challenge for them.

Liverpool outplayed Porto and will play calmly in the second game. On the other hand, Manchester will have to play for 100% of their capabilities to undo their loss from the first match and don’t miss any points in the league. Undoubtedly it will be a sensational rivalry for Premier League title until the end of the season.
